Regional tourists who are citizens of Bangladesh, India, and the Maldives visiting Bhutan for holiday and leisure purposes need a travel permit.

They will have to pay a Sustainable Development Fee (SDF) of Nu 1,200 per person per night, equivalent to approximately USD 16. Also, they need to pre-arrange and pay a tour package including SDF in advance in order to process an e-permit by the tour operator.

The payment should be in INR for the Indian passport holders and in USD for the Bangladeshi and Maldivian passport holders. The document required for processing the e-permit is a passport with a validity of six months. Tourists must carry the same passport that was used for applying e-permit.
